Blackface Release Official Video for “African Queen”

Here comes fresh visuals as Nigerian singer and former member of now defunct boy band, Plantashun Boiz, Blackface releases the official visuals of “African Queen

Since the breakup of the ‘Plantashun Boiz’, Blackface and 2baba had been engaged in one of the longest-running feuds that the Nigerian music industry has ever witnessed. Blackface for several years had accused his former of stealing his song ‘African Queen‘. Blackface had stated that he gave 2baba the right to sing the song but never got credited as a writer by his label.

He also claimed that he was not acknowledged on the track which earned 2baba several awards and recognitions since it was released in 2004. From claims of copyright theft to allegations of stopping his music career, Blackface has always a few things to say about the singer.

Even after dropping their differences in court, Blackface dropped his version of the hit tune where he retained elements of the original version, like the lyrics, chorus, verses, and rhythm.

For me this is the original version of the song African Queen! It captured the slavery experience of the Black Race, which is the spiritual mission of the Plantation Boys but they failed to accomplish it.
